Job Description:

The candidate will be a direct report to the Operations Manager in Bremerton, WA and will provide direction and guidance to additional support personnel as assigned.  The candidate will ensure corporate technical purchasing, quality standards and contractual requirements are met; improved approaches and methods are considered; and process commonality is introduced.  The candidate is responsible for processing material and services requisitions and for providing/maintaining required documentation to support purchasing system requirements.  The candidate will work closely with the Operations and Production Managers to ensure material lead times are identified and materials are received in sufficient time to achieve production commitments provide estimated delivery date (EDD) updates; and will maintain Bill of Materials (BOM) current for all projects. The candidate will maintain purchasing department records in an organized and auditable manner.  Oversee warehouse operations to include receiving, receipt inspections, storage, segregation, issuance and shipping, and material, tools and calibrated equipment.  Act as the “Procurement Professional” in support of purchasing system requirements.  The candidate will directly supervise qualified Buyers and Warehouse personnel and will build strong relationships with the support staff managers.  The candidate must lead by example in embracing the process and technical requirements of purchasing processes and procedures.

Job Requirements:

The candidate must have a Bachelor of Science degree in business management or at least 5 years of experience in the field of naval supply/logistics or supply chain management.  Preferred experience includes knowledge and experience in the ship repair industry, the fields of financial management and funds administration, and strong MS Excel capabilities.

Security Clearance:

Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Confidential security clearance.
